Pedro Schuch Mallmann, a partner and director at Renobrax, is working in Brazil on utility-scale wind and solar projects. Countries often face the same challenges in implementing renewable energy projects, Mallmann says. The projects all entail intensive use of capital, assessment of natural resources, environmental permits, and regulatory compliance, he says. Identifying partnerships and synergies with stakeholders at each step is the key to advancing any project from the idea to execution phase.
“The issues we face in renewables is not a topic under discussion in Brazil alone. All countries and regions are on the same path to raise deployment rates and assure that we can mitigate climate change and reach Paris Agreement goals,” Mallmann says.
Through the Financing and Deploying Clean Energy program, he is gaining fresh insights into energy policy and how to access financing.
“Companies are collaborating internationally, and individuals are joining forces to find creative solutions to implement renewable projects,” he says. “I will use this knowledge I am gaining in the certificate program to identify regulatory solutions in Brazil and other areas (of the world) as well.”
