The admitted students open house takes place in the hub of campus activity, Kroon Hall. Our campus in New Haven spans seven buildings including historic Marsh Hall, home to The Forest School. YSE also owns and manages thousands of acres of research and production forests in Connecticut, Vermont, and New Hampshire — living laboratories for our faculty and students.
Additionally, YSE students have access to Yale’s wide network of facilities, including libraries, student centers, dining halls, and fitness and athletic facilities.

Parking
On-Street Parking
Metered on-street parking is available on and around Prospect Street, though the spaces often fill up early. If you are lucky enough to get a spot, the easiest way — by far — to pay for street parking is with the ParkMobile app (Prospect Street zones are 55290 and 55291). Pay kiosks and smart meters are also available, depending on the block.
There is a generous 12-hour limit on Prospect Street spaces near Kroon Hall, but please refer to on-site signage or Park New Haven to confirm official time limits and details.
Science Park Garage Parking
The closest public parking garage available is Science Park Garage; please note that it is about a 15-minute walk to Kroon Hall, and street parking is limited.

Uphill Route (depicted on map below):
Exit the garage and turn right on Winchester Avenue. Continue on Winchester Avenue toward Munson Street. Turn left on Munson Street, which turns into Hillside Place. At the end of Hillside Place, turn right on Prospect Street. Kroon Hall will be on the left side of the street.
Alternative Downhill Route:
Exit the garage and turn right on Winchester Avenue. Continue on Winchester Avenue. At the end of Winchester Avenue, turn left onto Sachem Street. Turn left onto Prospect Street. Kroon Hall will be on the right side of the street.
Getting to New Haven
By Train
- Metro-North's New Haven Line runs dozens of daily trains between New Haven and New York City.
- Amtrak runs regularly to New Haven from Boston and New York City, with service to points south (Philadelphia, Washington, DC, etc.)
By Air
Bradley International in Hartford (BDL) is a major international airport accommodating most major airlines with direct flights to all major cities. It is located about 45 minutes north of New Haven.
New York City-area airports John F. Kennedy (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), and Newark (EWR) are between 1.5 and 2 hours from New Haven. All airports are served by Connecticut Limousine shuttle service. Connections from the New York airports to Metro North or Amtrak can be made by taking (sometimes complex) public transportation:
- JFK: Airtrain
- LaGuardia: NYC MTA Bus
- Newark: New Jersey Transit also, direct connection to Amtrak
