Katy Wilson is a PhD student at the Yale School of Environment, where she examines how companies are reshaping their business models to support the transition toward a net-zero economy. Her research evaluates the effectiveness of private climate governance mechanisms and develops frameworks to assess corporate climate action using forward-looking indicators.
Her experience bridges academic research and industry practice. During her master's studies, she collaborated with Columbia University's Earth Institute to model tropical cyclone vulnerability and served as a Contributing Author to the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report. She then worked at The Demex Group, leading the development of their Climate Risk Assessment tool. Her commitment to bridging research with practical solutions has led her to work with organizations like the World Business Council on Sustainable Development and Climate Bonds Initiative on climate finance and accountability frameworks.
She is active in the broader climate research community as a Committee Member for the E-Axes Forum on Climate Change and volunteers with the Net Zero Tracker.
Katy holds a BA in Geography from Cambridge University and an MA in Climate and Society from Columbia University, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar.
