Throughout its 100-year history, Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies has thoughtfully calibrated its focus to address the most pressing environmental challenges of the day. On issues ranging from forest management; to water, air, soil and food safety; to sustainable development; to climate change, F&ES has hired the foremost experts in the field to conduct important research, design effective policy and teach the future problem-solvers of our world.
This crucial flexibility and far-ranging vision would not have been possible without the support of like-minded alumni, friends, volunteers and corporate and foundation partners.
There are many ways to give to F&ES: in time, energy, and dollars. Many of our alumni choose to contribute unrestricted support to our annual fund and serve as class agent volunteers, connecting with their fellow alums and coordinating their contributions to the school.
We receive considerable support from Yale College alumni and many other donors who have no direct connection to either Yale or F&ES other than a deep and abiding care for the environment and a belief that the work done by F&ES is vitally important to our planet’s future. Through capital gifts, matching gifts, annual fund gifts, planned giving (trusts and bequests), real estate gifts, and many other vehicles, these generous souls ensure that F&ES will remain the world’s leading environment school.
Corporations and foundations lend their support through granting funds for faculty-designed research, providing scholarships and internships for current students, and hiring F&ES graduates to help the organizations navigate the complicated waters of globalization and the environment.
