Two students at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies (F&ES) have been named 2018 Energy Scholars by a U.S.-based program that honors young leaders in the renewable energy field.
Josh Constanti ’18 M.E.M. and Krisztina Pjeczka ’18 M.E.M. were among eight recipients of the award, which recognizes graduate students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision.
The program is sponsored by OneEnergy Renewables, a leading developer of utility-scale clean energy projects; Net Impact, a nonprofit that empowers transformational change in the workplace and the world; and 3Degrees, a U.S. company that offers clean energy services to organizations looking to meet sustainability goals.
Constanti, who has experience in the business and environmental sectors, has worked in project development for large-scale solar and wind projects throughout the U.S. As an intern with the Rocky Mountain Institute, he worked to help increase the ease of transactions for companies looking to purchase renewable energy.
He received his bachelor’s of science degree in business administration at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, where he majored in finance and entrepreneurship.
Pjeczkai, whose research lies at the nexus of energy, business, and the environment, Previously the recipient of a three-year fellowship at the Center for Social Entrepreneurship, she aims to become a leader in clean energy development and climate change mitigation.
A native of Hungary, she graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College with a degree in environmental studies and economics, with a minor in French.
The Energy Scholar program provides several opportunities to help boost their careers, including mentorship from industry professionals, personalized career counseling, internships and networking prospects.
