  1. Champion for Outdoor Inclusivity Awarded Kroon Cup

    Esaac Mazengia ’24 MESc, who revived the Outdoor Rec Industry Student Interest Group, recognized for being “a pillar of our community through his SIG leadership, research, and dedication to supporting nearly every event at YSE.”
  2. Class of 2024: “You Will Be Leaders for Change”

    The Class of 2024 celebrated their accomplishments at commencement ceremonies held at Old Campus and Kroon Courtyard on May 20. The 156 graduates are headed to positions at NGOs, corporations, governments, and academic institutions across the U.S. and the globe. 
  3. YSE Students Honored for Leadership in Conservation and Wildlife Science

    Three Yale School of Environment students have been awarded the MK McCarthy-RW Worth Scholarship for Leadership in Conservation Science. Germar González ’24 MESc, Elizabeth Nowlin ’24 MESc, and Mizzy Almaazmi ’24 MESc were recognized for their leadership in the field of conservation biology and wildlife science.
  4. Champion of the Chesapeake Bay Honored with YSE Alumni Award

    As executive director of the Chesapeake Bay Commission, Ann Pesiri Swanson '83 MES brought together scientists, federal and state legislators, and environmental advocates to forge agreements to protect the health of the largest estuary in the U.S.
  5. Can Gold Mining Be More Sustainable?

    A YSE-led study details the severe degradation and deforestation caused by gold mining in tropical forests, as well as the biophysical challenges associated with effectively restoring these landscapes.
