T

he CBEY Financing and Deploying Clean Energy online certificate program was the perfect fit for Marcus Schrauf, founder of Ingwe Development, a project development and boutique consultancy specializing in renewable energy in Africa and the Middle East. The program, he says, built on his previous education and experience, preparing him as a prospective doctoral student, while also supporting his career as a developer of renewable energy projects.

“I’m constantly delving into emerging topics, such as energy storage and decarbonization, while working on projects, but my workload has not afforded me the opportunity to focus on certain topics in the energy industry in a structured manner,” says Schrauf. “The CBEY program helped me develop a more structured approach to the broader areas of energy policy and technology transitions and innovation.”

With a professional background that includes international banking and finance, Schrauf is now a senior business developer with TotalEnergies, one of the largest oil companies in the world. He is based in the oil-rich United Arab Emirates and exploring ways the company can decarbonize and shift to cleaner, more sustainable forms of energy.
