Paul currently is a PhD student at the Yale University Center for Industrial Ecology under the supervision of Prof. Edgar Hertwich and Assoc. Prof. Ken Gillingham. Paul is interested in life cycle assessment and energy systems analysis of the US passenger vehicle fleet. His work pays special consideration to the impacts of vehicle production as well as the transition towards low-carbon technologies. Before joining Yale, he held a position at the International Council on Clean Transportation working on carbon emissions and costs of conventional and electric vehicles in a European context. Paul holds a Master's degree from Technical University of Berlin where he conducted research on the carbon footprint of renewable electricity generation in Australia.
