The Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies recently named Sean Bogle the new assistant dean for student affairs.
Bogle comes to Yale from Foothill College, where he served as the dean of student affairs and activities. Before Foothill, he was at Stanford University, where he served first as an assistant dean/residence dean, and then an assistant dean of students/associate director of community standards. He has also had several previous roles in conduct and community standards, as well as residence life.
Bogle, who joined F&ES on July 1, replaces Joanne DeBernardo, the long-time assistant dean of student services at F&ES who retired after 15 years of service to the School.
Bogle completed his EdD in Learning, Leadership, and Community from Plymouth State University, producing a dissertation titled “Examining Student Conduct Administrative Perspectives on Contemporary Federal Guidance for Campus Sexual Violence.” He also has an MS in Educational Leadership from Barry University and a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University.
“We are so excited to welcome Sean to the F&ES community and look forward to working with him on continuing to provide top notch support to our incredible students,” said F&ES Dean Indy Burke.
F&ES students are invited to sign up for a series of small group coffee chats with Bogle this summer.
