DR. G. HACISALIHOGLU (PhD, Cornell) is a Professor of Biology and World -Class Faculty at FAMU and a Courtesy Prof. with FSU. He carries out research into food crops with an emphasis on genetics bioinformatics, and phenotyping proteins, ionomes, and SoTL. He led multiple NSF/ USDA-funded projects with proven success. He has published widely (62+ articles and author of 4 books “SUPERGREENS”, “From Growing to Biology”, “Levelup Coll. Success”, and “PBio Concepts LM”). He has taught courses at all levels, including intro and advanced plant biology and majors biology. With 9600+ students taught, he brings unparalleled expertise into delivering high quality results to help undergraduates to pursue their goals in STEM fields, and championing student success. He is the winner of numerous awards, including US Excellence in HigherEd Award, FAMU Distinguished Researcher/ World-Class Faculty, Teaching Innovation Award, Adv. Teacher of the Year, and Fulbright to Japan. He has held associate faculty positions at Yale, Cornell, Michigan State U., FSU, Sabanci U., UTokyo, U. of Florida, and USDA.
