Course Description
Seminar Hosts: The Forest School presents a speaker driven seminar series on forest sector innovations for Fall 2026. This Fall’s seminar will focus on innovations across many forest-sector disciplines. It will be co-hosted with Oregon State University (OSU). The seminar series will include a weekly public webinar hosted by the Yale Forest Forum (YFF) and the following organizations: The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna (BOKU), RELAFOR (the Latin American Network for Forestry Education), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Seminar Description: This series will highlight speakers across a wide variety of forest research institutions and practitioner settings. Speakers will represent a range of regions and will include members of IUFRO’s Scaling-Up Forest Sector Innovations Task Force and their broader networks.
The objectives of this series are:
- Explore thematic areas covering forest sector innovation across technological, policy, institutional, social, and financial domains.
- Feature leaders in forest sector innovation research institutions and practitioner settings, including young professionals, the global environmental industry, and a forest-conscious public.
- Highlight innovations in both the Global North and South, as well as principles and approaches for responsible and inclusive innovation, development, and adoption.
- Share opportunities, challenges, and pathways for promoting forest sector innovation.
