Anthony Leiserowitz, PhD, is the JoshAni-TomKat Professor of Climate Communication and Director of the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication. He is an internationally recognized expert on public climate change beliefs, risk perceptions, policy support, and behavior, as well as the psychological, cultural, and political factors that shape them. He conducts research worldwide, including in the United States, China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Ireland. He has published more than 400 scientific articles, chapters, and reports and has worked with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the National Academy of Sciences, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Harvard Kennedy School, the United Nations Development Program, the Gallup World Poll, and the World Economic Forum, among other leading organizations.. 

In 2020, Dr. Leiserowitz was named the second-most influential climate scientist in the world (of 1,000) by Reuters. He is also the host of Climate Connections, a radio program broadcast each day on nearly 800 frequencies nationwide. 

Marija Verner

Marija Verner, PhD, is the Digital Education Manager and Research Specialist at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication. She is an expert on climate change attitudes, gender differences in environmental perceptions, and international public opinion research. ​​Her research examining how political beliefs, vulnerability, and demographic factors shape climate attitudes and policy support spans multiple countries, including  the United States, India, Indonesia, Ireland, and nations across Latin America.

Dr. Verner has published extensively in leading journals on topics ranging from climate change messaging effectiveness to Indigenous political participation and environmental justice. Her work has been featured in major media outlets, and she has presented her research at conferences across North America. She earned her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Colorado Boulder, where her dissertation explored environmental attitudes across the Americas.

Eric Fine

Eric Fine is the Project Manager at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication. He supports partner organizations, manages fellowship programs, presents the program’s research findings, and conducts workshops on evidence-based climate communication strategies. His work spans program development, international collaboration, and knowledge translation for diverse audiences.

Prior to joining YPCCC, Eric worked as an expedition leader and outdoor educator, guiding educational programs throughout the Americas and Europe. His decade-long observations of glacial retreat in Patagonia motivated his transition to climate science and communication work. He holds a Master of Environmental Science (MESc) from the Yale School of the Environment.
