Office Assistant—CPD

Participation as a CPD Office Assistant is an outstanding way to develop leadership and administrative skills, gain useful experience for your resume, remain grounded in your own career development during your time at YSE, and contribute to the graduate student experience overall.
 
We are looking for detail-oriented office assistants to work with the Associate Director.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Attend training sessions and occasional staff meetings
  • Work remotely posting job opportunities in YSE Next
  • Report weekly on status of YSE Next email account and postings status
  • Assist CPD on special projects and routine clerical tasks as agreed upon. Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to event and program planning, marketing and communications, as well as data management and system operations testing
  • Assist CPD at workshops, career panels, and other events as needed
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and follow-through.
  • As this is a very independent position, we are seeking candidates with excellent time management skills.
  • Must be conscientious and willing to learn YSE Next thoroughly, through CPD training sessions and independently.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.
Hours:
5-10 per week

Compensation: 
$15.15/hour

Peer Career Advisor—CPD

CPD is looking for candidates with highly developed writing skills to work as Peer Career Advisors.  The PCA program offers supplemental resume and cover letter review services through qualified peers during individual review sessions.  PCAs receive training in cover letter and resume review.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and hold virtual meetings with students for individual resume, cover letter and personal statement review.
  • Advertise/develop/promote PCA services.
  • Learn the YSE resume template and tutor students in its use.
  • Keep records of review sessions and create a report for CPD staff each semester.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
  • Prior resume/cover letter review experience desirable.
  • Ability to learn YSE Next system.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Previous professional work experience.
  • Knowledge of a range of environmental careers a plus (will learn a lot!).
Hours:
3-5/week

Compensation: 
$15.15/hour

Office Assistant, Programs—CPD

Participation as a CPD Office Assistant is an outstanding way to develop leadership and administrative skills, gain useful experience for your resume, remain grounded in your own career development during your time at YSE, and contribute to the graduate student experience overall.
 
We are looking for an experienced program assistant to work with the Senior Associate Director.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide a high level of support for planning and implementation of YSEinDC
  • Provide support for employer outreach for the All Ivy Environmental and Sustainable Development Recruiting Fair (fair held February 2022)
  • Provide significant planning and implementation support for major CPD programs
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience planning complicated events
  • High level of comfort reaching out to alumni and employers
  • Experience hosting meetings and webinars with Zoom
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proven ability to consistently follow through with extended assignments
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
Hours:
7-10 per week

Office Assistant, Social Media and Communications—CPD

Participation as a CPD Office Assistant is an outstanding way to develop leadership and administrative skills, gain useful experience for your resume, remain grounded in your own career development during your time at YSE, and contribute to the graduate student experience overall.
 
We are looking for an experienced social media and communications assistant to work with the Senior Associate Director.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Co-create a weekly schedule of content for CPD social media channels
  • Create templates and graphics for Instagram
  • Manage the CDP Hootsuite account and schedule weekly posts
  • Create short career related videos of peers and alumni
  • Write (or wrangle) a career development article/resource weekly for inclusion in CPD News
  • Update web resources and post events on CPD web calendar
Qualifications:
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Social media campaign experience
  • Skilled in Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
  • Graphic design experience with Canva or Adobe InDesign
  • Familiarity with Hoot Suite or social media scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn basic Qualtrics and YSE calendar system

Hours:
7-10 per week
 
Compensation: 
$15.15/hour
