Joint MBA Program with Universidad de los Andes

Yale University and the Universidad de los Andes are partnering to provide world-class professional development to a select group of managers who will hopefully, upon graduation, seek employment with organizations in the region.

Degrees

Students in the joint program earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universidad de los Andes and one of four degrees from the School of the Environment (YSE), Master of Environmental Management (MEM) Master of Environmental Science (MESc), Master of Forest Science (MFS), or Master of Forestry (MF).

UniAndes is currently ranked among the five best MBA programs in Latin America and is a leader in Latin America in business and management education. The MBA program at UniAndes is internationally accredited by European Foundation for Management Development (EQUIIS), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Students will complete 2 years of academic study at YSE, and then will begin their program at UniAndes during the 2nd summer. The UniAndes program is approximately 16 months, making the joint program about 3.5 years.

Course of Study

Each environment degree program requires a completion of 36 credits as well as a summer internship and a thesis or a capstone project.  In addition, all joint-degree students are required to attend three weeks of technical skills training before beginning their studies at YSE.  These are hands-on workshops, offered every August, that teach plant identification, ecosystems management, land measurement, and urban ecosystem analysis. Please see Degree Programs at YSE for more information.

At UniAndes, students will participate in the summer program organized by the university, which consists of a series of intensive courses, with the possibility of participating in fieldwork related to courses and case development.  For more information see MBA program general information.

Admissions

Each school individually admits students in accordance with its own criteria. Prospective students may apply to the program prior to matriculation by submitting a separate application to each school during a single admissions cycle. For more information on admission, please visit YSE Masters Admissions and the UniAndes Admissions.

Tuition

Students pay tuition for three semesters at YSE, and for the full program at UniAndes. For more information on applying for financial aid at YSE, please see the YSE financial aid website. For more information about applying for financial aid at UniAndes, please see the UniAndes Admission and Financial aid website. Students must apply for financial aid at each school, and any aid awarded will apply to the semesters in which a student is enrolled at that particular school.
