Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate

We study the interactions between atmospheric chemistry, the land biosphere and the climate system. Our goal is to understand the factors that control the distribution and variability of chemically-reactive, radiatively-active species: ozone, methane and aerosol particulate matter. We apply multiple observational datasets, especially from satellites and flux towers, and Earth system modeling. Our policy-relevant research projects provide results that support effective environmental management and decision-making.
