Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate

Nadine Unger

Our mission is to understand Earth’s chemical climate system in modern and deep time. To achieve this goal, we use computer models of the global environment in combination with measurements from surface, aircraft and space-based platforms. We investigate the dynamic role of short-lived trace gases (ozone, methane) and aerosol particles (organic carbon, sulfate, nitrate, soot) in regional and global climate change with a particular research emphasis on vegetation-chemistry-climate interactions
