Bicycles Rule
Summer Internship, 2006
2006 Student Internship
Bicycles still rule the streets in China. Despite the proliferation of luxury cars and fuel-cell buses in the capital city, they still remain the fastest and most efficient method of getting across town. The major arteries of Beijing have wide lanes reserved for bicycles only. In this urban environment, bicycles are used to transport people, goods, and even trash. Covered parking garages staffed by attendants are located by metro stations and major commercial districts.
