Description: For more than 50 years the Institute has sponsored a variety of fellowship programs that provide direct training and financial support to advanced students of economics.
Eligibility: The Institute awards a dozen or more Summer Fellowships each year to college and university seniors who will be entering a doctoral program in economics or affiliated program (e.g., law and economics, economic history, etc.). We also consider applications from those students enrolled in such programs for no more than two years. The program is not designed for students wishing to pursue graduate work in a business school program (e.g. MBA).

Kinship Conservation Fellows Program
Description: The program is an intensive, month-long paid fellowship, with a $4,500 stipend and room & board in an eco-retreat setting. If you’re interested in exploring market-based solutions to environmental problems – you’re in good company here. Kinship offers fellowship programs to select groups of mid-career conservationists. Each class of Fellows comes together for a month of practical, hands-on training in leadership skills, business principles and project development.
Eligibility: Mid-career conservation leaders with at least five years of experience, who are interested in learning about using market approaches to solve environmental problems.
Deadline: February (annually)
PERC - Property and Environment Research Center Graduate Fellowships
Description: These fellowships are an opportunity for graduate or law students to conduct research projects on free market approaches to environmental and natural resource problems. Graduate fellows spend three months at PERC in Bozeman, Montana, researching and writing a paper under the supervision of a PERC senior fellow. While there, fellows are required to present two to three seminars to outline, report on, and summarize their research findings. A paper of publishable quality is the expected result. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $1,600 in addition to reimbursement for reasonable domestic round trip travel expenses to Montana.
Eligibility: These fellows must show potential for research and writing in these areas, and preferably be working on a research paper, thesis or dissertation. Fellows are required to complete a paper of publishable quality and give three seminars to outline, report on, and summarize their research findings.
