"Creating Binational Peace Parks between Honduras and Nicaragua"

The Nature Conservancy at Nicaragua (TNC) is involved in the Bosawas Biosphere Reserve that encompasses an extensive part of this Caribbean lowland forest. Together, the Honduran and Nicaraguan Mosquitia make up more than 5 million acres of largely intact rainforest. A new project intended to protect a mountainous area including the Nicaraguan “Tepesomoto” Natural Park and Honduran “La Botija” National Park is being carried out as an alliance with a group of students and professors from Yale FE&S.

Students are also welcome to discuss opportunities to join other TNC research projects. Current FE&S students Jorge Figueroa and Bella Gordon will also talk about their recent jobs related with this binational park.
