With a background in ecology and ecosystem dynamics, and publications on ecosystem degradation, restoration, and the basis of resilience, Tom Barker’s research currently involves sustainable management of carbon and nutrients in agricultural landscapes. He teaches, writes and advises on the steps necessary for the transition to political and economic sustainability, and has recently been appointed Director of the Liverpool Green Economics Network. Tom is an author and co-editor of The Wetlands Handbook (Wiley) and the field workbook, Functional Assessment of Wetlands (CRC), and was a lead author of Chapter Two,
TEEB, Ecological and Economic Foundations, edited by Pushpam Kumar.
