The Sustainable Innovation, Finance and Entrepreneurship (SIFE) SIG is intended to serve as an affinity group for F&ES students that are focused on sustainable innovation, finance, markets and business oriented solutions to environmental problems. The need and opportunity for sustainable finance, innovative business models and commercial approaches to addressing large-scale societal-level environmental challenges like climate change, air and water pollution and toxicity, and natural resource scarcity is growing by the day. Meanwhile, Yale is increasing its commitment to social and sustainable entrepreneurship through initiatives such as the launch of Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale (CITY) and the Center for Business and Environment at Yale (CBEY)’s Climate Change Entrepreneurship Program, alongside InnovateHealth Yale and other campus-wide activities, initiatives and prizes. Students need a centralized forum to navigate these opportunities, interact with like-minded thinkers and actors, share ideas, and access mentors, including fellow students, Alumni and practicing entrepreneurs. This SIG will provides that forum.
