Salt Marsh
Close to the Guilford Marine station is a local salt marsh, part of which is owned by Yale University. The Raymond lab has been outfitting the creek which drains this marsh with a series of instruments to measure the impact of the salt marsh on water chemistry. Currently we are measuring the water flux (ADCP), DIC, CO2, chlorophyll, total suspended sediments, PAR, CDOM, dissolved oxygen and rainfall every half an hour with the intention of understanding how short term variability in marsh flooding and climate alter the amount of carbon exported to the coastal ocean.
