Isotopic Studies
14C Preparation Lab
The Raymond lab has the capability to convert any type of carbon sample, including dissolved
organic carbon, to purified CO2 for AMS analysis. Samples are then shipped to either
NOSAMS or
Arizona
for 14C analysis.

Data Mining
Often in collaboration with the
Yale Center for Earth Observation,
students and post docs in the Raymond lab use existing data to study the controls the
lateral transport of carbon and nutrients to streams and rivers.
-
Field Studies
In addition to data mining, the Raymond laboratory uses bulk and isotopic measurements and
high frequency probes and instrumentation to study the controls of the transport of carbon
and nutrients to streams and rivers. Sites currently include
local watersheds
and the
Harvard Forest.
