Dr. Ya-Mei Yang is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Industrial Ecology (CIE). Her work at CIE includes dynamic analysis of zinc cycles and historical patterns of zinc use, as well as metals used in buildings. She received her Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University where she developed and applied new statistical methods for CO2 leak detection at geologic sequestration sites. Prior to Carnegie Mellon University, she was a research assistant in the Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Taiwan University, and her work involved risk assessment, material flow analysis and life cycle analysis associated with waste management systems. Dr. Yang holds a B.S in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Environmental Planning and Management from National Taiwan University, and a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
