Steve Ramsey recently retired from General Electric where he was the Vice President for Corporate Environmental Programs. He was responsible for creating and sustaining a strong EHS vision, culture, and performance through world class management systems and meaningful performance metrics. He had global responsibility for environmental health and safety where he was responsible for establishing corporate policy, setting expectations, and overseeing the development of management systems and training programs. He presented the performance of EHS to the CEO and board of directors of GE. He represented GE in external matters related to corporate citizenship with analysts and stakeholders including the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Innovest, Citigroup, and the U.S. Climate Action Partnership. He was a lecturer on EHS at the John F. Welch Learning Center and supported the creation and implementation of ecomagination©.

He serves on the board of the Institute for Sustainable Communities and is a founder of the Yale Group, a benchmarking group comprised of EHS leaders from a dozen Fortune 500 companies and Dean Speth.
