About

I am a PhD student in Dr. Graeme Berlyn's lab and am broadly interested in the role played by plant physiological characteristics in modulating species composition of tropical secondary forests along environmental gradients. Also, I have interests in plant phylogenetics, community-based reforestation, tropical mixed-species plantations, and restoration ecology.

I received an M.F.S. from Yale FES in 2006, and spent the intervening year (2007) working with the Applied Ecology program of the Center for Tropical Forest Science (PRORENA-CTFS) and the Environmental Leadership and Training Initiative (ELTI) in Panama, both Yale FES initiatives. Previous to this, I received a B.A. in Foreign Affairs with a minor in Spanish from the University of Virginia and have worked extensively throughout Latin America.
