About

Born in Peru and grew up in Lima. Studied Forestry at Universidad Nacional Agraria. Interests were always in protected areas, biodiversity conservation, non-timber forest products. In Peru, I worked in Manu National Park, Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary, Vilcabamba Reserved Zone, Tumbes Reserved Zone.

Practice Aikido since 1993. Went to NY to train for two months at the New York Aikikai (www.nyaikikai.com) in 1998. Met my wife there, and moved to NY on September of that year. Happily married with two kids: Mateo (7) and Mirei (5).

My interests now include carbon sequestration and sustainable development. And photography (always photography, since 1987).
