About

Christopher Kral earned a masters degree in Environmental Management at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies in May of 2007, where he focused on corporate strategy and risk mitigation, and wrote his thesis on carbon markets. At Yale, Christopher worked with the United Nations Development Program in facilitating public-private partnerships for urban environments, and as a lead research assistant with Yale University’s Office of Sustainability to develop its land use management strategy. During the course of his degree, he was chosen to help to promote China’s carbon markets through the Energy and Environment program with the United Nation’s country office in Beijing, and participated in the UN Conference of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol in Nairobi, Kenya.

Prior to graduate school, Christopher gained extensive international experience in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. He held positions in a number of international agencies, including the IUCN, the National Wildlife Federation, Save the Children, and the Australian Conservation Foundation. For more than two years, he was based in Senegal, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer in natural resource management and community development. As an instructor for Outward Bound Wilderness, he led courses in leadership development and environmental education in the Colorado Rockies. Christopher completed his B.A. as a double major in Environmental Studies and Sociology at Holy Cross in 2000.
