The Urban Resources Initiative will be planting trees in New Haven as part of the Yale Day of Service on Saturday, May 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
If you’re interested in helping, visit http://yaledayofservice.org/node/810, and go to Wooster Square at the center of the park. Older kids are welcome. Bring gloves. For more information, contact the coordinators, Tim Bertaccini '77 (timothy.bertaccini@yale.edu) and Elaine Piraino-Holoevet '75 (emp@piroet.com). The tree planting is sponsored by the Yale Club of New Haven.
URI is a Yale university partnership that fosters community-based land stewardship and promotes environmental education. One of its goals, in partnership with the City of New Haven, is to plant 10,000 trees throughout the city. For more information about URI, visit www.yale.edu/uri/.
