Eleven students and graduates from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies (F&ES) have been selected as summer fellows for the Environmental Defense Fund’s Climate Corps program, an innovative fellowship that gives specially trained students the opportunity to help transform energy use within organizations in the private and public sector in the U.S., Mexico and China.

The EDF Climate Corps links top graduate students from the nation’s leading universities with companies, cities, schools and public institutions to identify and implement high-value ways to save energy, carbon emissions and money.

The 11 F&ES students are among 117 fellows working for 96 organizations nationwide and eight organizations in Mexico and China. Nearly 700 students applied for the fellowships. Two students from the Yale School of Management were also selected as Fellows.

“We are now in our eighth year of EDF Climate Corps,” saidVictoria Mills, managing director of the program. “Over that time, the focus of both our fellows and their host organizations has expanded beyond picking the low-hanging fruit to elevating energy management to a strategic business priority.”
