FES student is panelist for PBS “Designing Healthy Communities”

Sarah Barbo, FES/SOM ’14, will be part of a town hall panel to air on PBS this May. The series, Designing Healthy Communities, examines the connection between poor community design and burgeoning health costs based upon key public health indices: obesity, diabetes, heart, asthma, cancer and depression, a concept first researched by Dr. Richard Jackson, a pediatrician- turned-public–health officer. The New York panel discussion will pick up the conversation about the common characteristics of unhealthy communities and how they can be changed with area experts.

The tri-state area broadcasts are scheduled for the dates below, but please check your local listings as these times might change:

  • THIRTEEN - Saturday May 25 at 1:00PM
  • NJTV - Sunday May 26 at 9:00 PM
  • WLIW 21 - Sunday May 26 at 5:00 PM
