The Yale Club of Boston and the Yale Club of Eastern Connecticut are co-hosting a family-friendly Day of Service at Yale Myers Forest on Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Volunteers will clear brush and fallen logs from trails, repair steps and railings, and perform other light maintenance. Mark Ashton, Morris K. Jesup Professor of Silviculture and Forest Ecology and director of school forests, will talk about the 7,840-acre forest – the largest privately held property in the state -- and its role in the community.
Participants will meet at 150 Centre Pike in Eastford. For more information, visit www.yaledayofservice.org/node/1009
Last year, over 3,500 Yale alumni and friends served side-by-side at more than 245 sites in 40 states and 18 countries.
