Human Capital Development in the Environmental, Natural Resources, and Forestry Domain: Global Perspectives and Imperatives

Dr. Audrey A. Trotman, National Education Program Leader, U.S. Department of Agriculture

Audrey A. Trotman is a National Education Program Leader in the Science and Education Resources Development Unit of the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. She focuses on national needs for graduate and postgraduate fellowships and higher education multicultural scholar grants in the field of food and agricultural sciences.

She was formerly on the faculty of Tuskegee University, where she conducted research in the areas of microbially mediated degradation of crop residues at the Center for Food and Environmental Systems for Human Exploration of Space, and coordinated the Kennedy Space Center’s “NASA Spaceflight and Life Science Training Program.” She also taught courses in the Department of Biology and in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, including Student Leadership Development.

Dr. Trotman holds a B.S. from Tuskegee University, an M.S. from Auburn University, and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. She has been the recipient of numerous awards.
