Energy Economics and Policy Analysis

This course examines energy policy issues that pertain to the environment, with a focus on providing tools for analyzing these issues. A primary objective is to apply economics to particular issues of energy markets, environmental impacts, investment in renewables, and other energy issues such as transportation and energy efficiency. We cover the economic and technical considerations behind a particular energy policy issue and then have a discussion about a related article or case study. Prerequisites: to allow for a deeper treatment of the material, students are required to have completed F&ES 505a (or equivalent) and at least one course on energy.
