An outdoors, hands-on overview of the study of ecosystems, how the structure of ecosystems develops (e.g., biodiversity), and how ecosystems function (e.g., process nutrients or pollutants), with focus on the impact of global changes—such as climate change and eutrophication—on ecosystem structure and function. Field-based group and independent projects are carried out on New England ecosystems
