A descriptive overview of the earth’s atmospheric environment. The basic principles of climatology and meteorology and their application to the environment are discussed. Topics include climate elements, energy flow in the atmosphere, atmospheric motions, effect on agricultural systems, climatological impact on forest resources and animal habitats, urban climate, human bioclimatology, air quality, air resources (wind and solar energy), and climate change. Three hours lecture. Problem sets. Group project.
