Regression Modeling of Ecological and Environmental Data

This course in applied statistics assists scientific researchers in the analysis and interpretation of observational and field data. After considering the notion of a random variable, the statistical properties of linear transformations and linear combinations of random data are established. This serves as a foundation for the major topics of the course, which explore the estimation and fitting of linear and nonlinear regression models to observed data. Prerequisite: a course in introductory statistics. Three hours lecture. Statistical computing with R, weekly problem exercises.

F&ES 510: Introduction to Statistics and Data Analysis in the Environmental Sciences
