Land Use Clinic
This clinic will explore a variety of specific land use, environmental, and sustainable
development topics that are of current concern and relevance to the field, to the
curriculum, and to society. Each term, the professor teaching the course will
identify and lecture on specific topics that relate to the Land Use Law Center’s work.
This spring, students will explore community development and distressed property
remediation, how to overcome local barriers to small-scale solar installations, local
impacts associated with hydrofracking and the planning and regulatory framework
in place to mitigate those impacts, and transit oriented development initiatives.
Students will work with the professor teaching the seminar to develop papers,
publications, and research memoranda on the topic covered. Additionally, students
will attend field trips relevant to the topic covered and participate in project
meetings with Center staff and clients.
