The course first reviews the science and policy in the 2007 IPCC 4th Assessment Report. The course then discusses a number of controversial topics including credibility and uncertainty, BAU emission pathways, multiple greenhouse gases, climate sensitivity, ecosystem response, geoengineering, contribution of land use to emissions, regulations versus cap and trade, universal participation, concentration targets, carbon-price paths, measuring impacts, catastrophic damages, cross-generation distributional issues, cross-income distributional issues, autonomous adaptation, role of government in adaptation, and R&D
