CBCS - Software

Ecological Modeling and Instructional Software
CourseWare, Moosewood, Gecko, and other programs are Java-based simulators that help students understand complex ecological patterns and processes traditionally taught in such courses as landscape ecology, community ecology, and wildlife conservation ecology.  CourseWare modules, currently 20 in number, explore climate change, the impacts of anthropogenic activities on natural ecosystems, predator-prey relationships, and many other topics covered in traditional graduate and undergraduate level landscape and community ecology courses. CBCS simulators were featured in the Netwatch section of Science Magazine.

Moosewood - Simulating climate change on Island Royale, Lake Superior

Gecko - A family of ecosystem simulators

CourseWare - Online interactive simulators for teaching university level science courses
