Graduation time is always both exciting and hectic for university administrators. In our office (Admissions & Financial Aid), we don’t have a main role in graduation activities except to help support (this year, we got to shuttle and hand off instruments to a group of our students who played a song during the ceremony, pass out fancy Yale blue rain ponchos to guests of graduates to stay dry in the well-timed downpours, and offer our congratulations to all of our amazing grads). However, as we say goodbye to the graduating class, we are still working with incoming students for the Fall 2012 term, and already thinking about our future admission cycle and planning recruitment events for the Fall! It is sort of fun at this time of year for us to get to witness the whole cycle play out at once: the steps taken to becoming a Masters student, how our students succeed at graduate school, and then how they figure out how to impact the world after graduation–all at once!
We have a great tradition here at FES where our grads decorate their graduation caps. Our students take this very seriously, and you see amazing ways to depict their work in the environment. I thought you’d like to take a look, to get you excited of what may be to come! Graduation pictures that have been posted to our Facebook page!
