Meta-analysis of ozone and mortality
Numerous studies have explored the relationship between short-term fluctuations in ozone and mortality, however many have given conflicting or inconclusive results. We combined 144 effect estimates from 39 time-series studies to generate a pooled estimate of how ozone affects mortality. Results provide strong evidence of a relationship between ozone and mortality, but also indicate publication bias in individual time-series studies.
