10 Ways to Reconnect to F&ES

Are you looking to contribute your time, talent and energy to F&ES? Below is a menu of ways for you to re-connect with classmates and contribute toward F&ES’s mission to educate and train the environmental leaders of the future.

1. Network with Alums

• Join the F&ES LinkedIn Group and start networking with more than 1,000 of your fellow alums. Go to http://www.linkedin.com/and search for the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies group.
• Tweet on topics of mutual alumni interest
• Become an F&ES Facebook participant
• Gather with alumni at TGIFs and Alumni Events around the country; check here for upcoming events
• Start an alumni network in your city or town, contact alumni.fes@yale.edu to learn how to get started.

3. Support the F&ES Annual Fund

• Roughly 80% of F&ES students receive financial aid. Contribute toward the approximately $250,000 in critical unrestricted funding for student scholarships and support.
• Boost F&ES participation in the Annual Fund—only 30-32% of alumni currently contribute to the Fund.
• Join Sand County Society—become one of the 100+ alumni leadership donors giving $1000 or more each year ($500 for the last five graduating classes).
• Make an Annual Fund contribution now

5. Come Back to Campus

• Join the more than 100 alums who come back to campus annually to make a presentation, speak in a class, join a panel, or meet with student interest groups. Contact a faculty member or center director to learn about opportunities to come back.
• Participate in a Career Development Panel by contacting peter.otis@yale.edu
• Come to Reunion!  October 19-21, 2012.

7. Volunteer for the F&ES Alumni Association Board

• Nominate yourself or someone you know to serve as a Board member; contact alumni.fes@yale.edu
• Volunteer as an external alumni volunteer to a Board committee: nominating committee, programs, university engagement, or specialized ad hoc by contacting alumni.fes@yale.edu

9. Watch a Webinar

• Sign up for one of many webinar presentations and multimedia offerings at Yale F&ES. From your home or workplace you can listen in on talks from environmental leaders and academic researchers on a variety of topics. Visit the School calendar to see upcoming events.
