Moore fellows will receive funds to cover full tuition and a modest stipend for all three years of the program. In addition, they will receive funds for at least one summer internship to be carried out with a Moore Foundation grantee organization in the Andes-Amazon region, or equivalent.
Yale University and the Universidad de los Andes are partnering to provide world-class professional development to a select group of managers who will, upon graduation, seek employment with organizations in the region. Funds for this program are currently provided by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. After graduation, grantees will agree to work for at least three years in environmental or conservation organizations in the region.
Students who wish to participate in this program have the choice between two three-year options. The first is a joint degree program between the Yale School of Management and the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. The alternative is a joint program with the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
Yale’s professional Schools of Management (SOM) and Forestry & Environmental Studies (FES) have proven track records when it comes to producing today’s conservation and environmental leaders. Under an innovative, three-year joint degree program that combines training for an MBA and an Environmental Master’s degree, Yale has for more than 20 years prepared students with a top-notch education that combines a solid grounding in environmental sciences and conservation with cutting-edge management skills. The record is clear and reflected in the successful careers and leadership of previous graduates of the program.
Starting in 2011, FES and the Universidad de los Andes (UniAndes) also began offering a three-year joint program. Upon completion of the program, students will be granted both an MBA from UniAndes and an Environmental Masters degree. UniAndes is currently ranked among the five best MBA programs in Latin America and is a leader in Latin America in business and management education. The MBA program at UniAndes is internationally accredited by European Foundation for Management Development (EQUIIS), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
The Moore Fellows Program seeks well qualified candidates to undertake the three-year, joint degree program with Yale SOM or the three-year joint program with UniAndes. Successful applicants will receive full tuition and a stipend to cover living expenses for each of the three years of the program. In addition, funding is provided for at least one summer internship to be carried out with a Moore Foundation grantee organization in the Andes-Amazon region, or equivalent.
